Overview

This 1-hour tour begins in front of the entrance to Sugarloaf Mountain, on the stairway below the “Teleférico Pão de Açúcar” sign – see the picture. Your guide will be waiting for you.

Take your fast-pass ticket to skip the line and go straight to the cable car. Board the cable car and ride to the Urca Hill station. Stop here to take in the view of the city before continuing the tour, taking the second cable car to the top of Sugarloaf Mountain. At the top, enjoy the beautiful and panoramic views of Rio de Janeiro.

Enjoy one of the most incredible views in the world, overlooking Copacabana Beach, Guanabara Bay and everything your eyes can reach from the top of Sugarloaf. You can choose to stay at the top of the attraction for as long as you like, even after the guided tour has ended.

Jal was a very nice and accommodating tour guide. I was rushing to try and get amazing sunset pictures and he made it happen! Our meet up was at 5, but with sunset at 5.17, there wasn’t much time. He had our VIP (skip the line) tickets ready as soon as I got there and we made it up the cable car lines so quickly that I had time to capture some great sunset photos and grab a complimentary beer on the way up! I really wanted to get the pictures that afternoon since the next 2 days in Rio were expected to be cloudy. Jal understood the assignment and exceeded expectations to make that happen!

Lunch at a Churrasqueira, Sunset at Sugarloaf

We enjoyed a wonderful lunch at the churrasqueira with full explanations of the different Brazilian foods provided by our guide Newton. We absolutely enjoying spending our afternoon with our guide he was so caring, accommodating, and professional. He was patient as we stopped to shop and take pictures at the different sites. At sunset we went to the Sugarloaf which was stunning. We can’t say enough how much we enjoyed the sites and the company of our guide whom we are thankful for such a great service and attention. Newton, thank you from the bottom of our hearts for making sure our first time in Rio was memorable.

We've just come to the end of a 9 day stay in Rio. We used the services of a local guide called Jalbeir Guimaraes who was superb. His local knowledge was great (though to be expected), however its all the little extras that made us use him exclusively for a naumber of days. we dont like big groups so always opt for the personal attention of a guide. Even tho this is mor expensive, you can move around faster than a big group and a private tour is more flexible. Jalbeir, showed us the normal 'touristy' attractions as well as what the locals do for fun. Sadly, we leave Rio, but feel as though we have really seen it all and 'done Rio, like a local".
