You'll be a bit higher up with great views to Ipanema and Leblon beaches and also to Lagoon and Christ Redeemer. (there´s some walking but not hiking up the Dois Irmãos hills).

Vista Chinesa
The Chinese View summit has one of the best views in Rio and is one of the very few places where you can see and capture Sugar Loaf and Christ Redeemer in the same frame. The scenic spot also has a pagoda built with chinese style to honor a group of chinese farmers who immigrated in the beginning of the 1900s.

15 minutes • Admission Ticket Free

Cascatinha Taunay
Taunay Waterfall is the highestin the Tijuca Forest National Park and really loved by locals. We'll stop close to the falls to admire its beauty, feel its drops and also visit an old bridge built in 1860 that is now mixed and composed with the tropical ranforest around. Amazing spot for pictures and to feel "inside the forest' and away from the city.

15 minutes • Admission Ticket Free

Mirante das canoas
Stopping by this summit, we'll be able to see Pedra da Gavea, the highest monolith close to the ocean in the world, and Pedra Bonita, the mountain where the hang-gliders take off. These 2 beautiful mountains are part of the amazing and unique Rio de Janeiro landscape and you'll have a very close angle view with the mountains, the forest and the ocean. After this attraction, we'll stop for a lunch break.

15 minutes • Admission Ticket Free

Chico Mendes Ecological Park
After the break for lunch, we'll visit Chico Mendes Park, named to honor the Brazilian environment activist. On this park, in a lagoon and mangrove area located in the West Rio, we'll take a 15 min. walk (it´s flat terrain - no hiking up). On the lagoon, it´s possible to see capybaras and caimans and also some more wildliefe like birds, lizards and more. This stop reveals how much different the eco-systems can change within Rio limits.

30 minutes • Admission Ticket Free

Prainha Beach
Prainha is a small, protected and secluded beach on the West Zone of Rio, considered the best surfing spot in the city. It's very scenic, with rainforest, mountains and rocks all around. We'll have the chance to visit it, take some pictures and maybe drink some coconut water enjoying the lush of this area.

Excellent alternative site-seeing experience
MStanleylon, 13-09-2022
Having taken a city sites tour the day before we were keen to experience Rios green areas so booked the Nature Secrets tour.
We were really very fortunate in being the only participants, probably down to time of year so we ended up with a private tour guides by Alex and Ricardo.
We began with a spectacular viewing point about the city and enjoyed a history lesson complete with diagrams of how Rio came to be since the 1700s which was emailed to is afterwards.
From there we drove to the Tijuca forest in the heart of Rio to see the waterfalls, visited a national park where we met our first Capybara and Capuchin monkeys, and later round to the secret surf beach which was unspoilt and very beautiful
Alex was a mine of information and happy to answer our many questions, he demonstrated a real passion for what he does and is a genuine environmentalist
I’d recommend this tour to anyone who wants to see an alternative side of Rio
Excellent tour…

The tour was really informative and the guide was really knowledgeable and passionate about her job. Saw some really good sites and was well worth the money! Would most definitely recommend Jungle Me!
