Overview

This is a private tour which allow us to visit other attractions in Rio besides the main attractions. Our plan for the day includes the famous landmarks in Rio including the Christ the Redeemer (van tickets included), Sugarloaf and the historical part of the city.

Our guides have a solid knowledge of local history, culture, contemporary life and places of interest. They will be glad to host you and your party.

Our regular tours will give you an overview of the city.

Your can also choose to have a transfer service from Santos Dumont Airport (SDU) on your arrival to your hotel in the south zone of Rio.

What's Included

Tickets to visit the Christ Redeemer by van are included on the tour price

Tour w transfer: one-way arrival transfer from SDU airport. Transfers between 7am-6pm.

Sugarloaf Mountain

Beautiful 360 degrees view of the city of Rio. It is possible to check the main beaches and contemplate the mountains from the top.

The Metropolitan Cathedral of Saint Sebastian

Located in the center of the city, its overall form is conical shaped. The cathedral’s size makes it very hard to go unnoticed. Its external diameter is 106 meters while its internal diameter is 96 meters. Its height is 75 meters. The inside area is 8,000 square meters and its standing room capacity is 20,000 people. The form of the Cathedral relates to the Mayan architecture of the pyramids.

Great arrival option for Rio de Janiero

We were tired from flying overnight. It took 1.5 hours to clear security at GIG. We were concerned that our driver/guide would think we were not coming. After exchanging texts, Vivian was waiting for us at the arrivals area and we made the most of our first day in Rio. She took us to our hotel and after checking in and a quick shower and change of clothes, she returned to our hotel and took us our for a full tour of the city. We saw all the main sights. The weather that day was a challenge and traffic was terrible, slowing us down, but despite that this was still an excellent tour. Vivian kept us well informed about what we were seeing and answer our questions.

One piece of advice that I'll pass along...Vivian did mention that traffic flows much better on a weekend rather than weekday, so you'll definitely see more if you book this tour on a weekend.

Great intro to Rio de Janiero

We were tired from an all night flight. It took 1.5 hours to clear security at GIG. Vivian greeted us at the arrival hall with a smile and took us to our hotel. We checked in and arranged to meet Vivian in 90 minutes for the tour.

After a refreshing shower and change of clothes, she showed us the highlights of the city. She kept us informed as we drove about. She is an excellent driver, performing well in intense traffic. It was a cooler, overcast day, but we saw all the promised sights. I highly recommend this tour.

Great Start to our Time in Rio

Sergio, You were an excellent storyteller and you made our arrival in Rio both welcoming and informative. We enjoyed our day touring the sites in Rio from our arrival at Santos Dumont to our friend's apartment in Jardin de Botanico as though you were a friend taking the scenic route. This tour was definitely worth the price and Sergio was a wonderful companion, even giving us some ideas on sites to see while we were in the city. Thank you!

Best tour

Picked up at the airport after flying 16 hours promptly by Sergio(?). Taken to our hotel and guide waited to see if we could check in early. We could so he returned in an hour in a comfortable car with a driver. Took us to Sugar Loaf and Christ the Redeemer. We were hungry so took us to a little restaurant where we paid $8 for two lunches with drinks. Took us to some other places. Excellent English. Showed us the high spots because we were falling asleep. We were the only two on the tour so it was very personal. Really enjoyed and the price was a bargain.

Vivianne, our local guide, spoke excellent English. As our family of 3 were the only ones on the tour, Vivianne looked after us like a friend..introducing us to this lovely city she calls home. We had bought 'Skip the Line' admission tickets to both the Sugar Loaf and Christ the Redeemer, which saved us lots of time. She also stopped at interesting places of interest so we could have time to savour the moment. As she took us around in her car, she went out of her way to stop by the steps with the colourful tiles because my daughter had heard so much about it...though it wasn't on our itinerary.Though we had only the weekend at Rio,we felt that we have fallen in love with Rio in that short time..as we saw it through the eyes of a guide who loves this city! Thank you Vivianne!!
