Sugarloaf Mountain

It comprises the Morro do Pão de Açúcar (which gives its name to the complex) and the Morro da Urca. Along with the statue of Christ the Redeemer, it is the biggest postcard in the city of Rio de Janeiro and one of the most famous in Brazil. Due to its unique characteristics, bordered by the waters of Guanabara Bay, it is an international tourist reference for the city.

It has, as a complementary attraction, the cable car ride, connecting Praia Vermelha, Morro da Urca and Morro do Pão de Açúcar. Known as Sugarloaf Cable Car, the cable car was designed in 1908 and opened in 1912, becoming the first cable car installed in the country and the third in the world.
