TIJUCA PEAK

Located in the Tijuca National Park is the second highest peak of the town with 1021 meters of altitude.

Arriving near the top we find a staircase of 117 steps, which was carved into the rock by the slaves because the coming of the King of Belgium to Brazil.

What an adventure. Climbing the trail from Lage Park to the Christ! And seeing all the animals and birds! Thiago knows the perfect picture spots!

And then the Jeep tour was awesome! His knowledge of culture and history completed the amazing views.

Our kids had a great time with Thiago who encouraged them to climb and have fun!!

Thiago was a great tour guide, knowledgeable and great photographer. He provided recommendation of other things to do while in RIO. The hike was amazing because it was on weekday and no one else was there but us. we moved at our own speed and took time appreciating the nature of this park. Make sure that you take a towel with you for a deep at the waterfall which was amazing. Also read the full description of this tour as it is not a private hike for solo traveler (it’s private for 2 or more people) if you are traveling SOLO then you have to pay for the other person which is $100 for solo traveler. The view at the top of the mountain was worth every penny and I had an amazing time hiking with Thiago

Thiago is the best tour guide EVER!! And the hike was soo good that we had to celebrate by going to a steak house in the nearby Barra da Tijuca. We loved the fact that Tijuca National Park is only open to bikes and hikers, and Thiago answered all our questions along the way with amazing detail and precision. Don't forget your towel and active shorts for the most refreshing dip in the 10 meter high waterfall!

We took a rainforest tour in Tijuca with Thiago. We all had an amazing time which we will remember forever! Thiago was a fantastic tour guide and we were very lucky to have him show us around on this trip. Not only is he knowledgable, helpful and funny but he is extremely passionate about the country in which he lives in. He showed us all the best sights and made sure he explained all the relevant history and information. He also recommended other activities and restaurants to visit whilst we were in Rio. If I ever go to Brazil again I will be sure to contact him again and will definitely recommend him to all my friends!
