A great tour with a great guide

Daniel picked us up at our hotel at 8am, right on time. We talked about what we would like to see and agreed on an agenda, namely that we would like to visit Christ the Redeemer, the top of Sugarloaf, the Selaron steps, and maybe visit the botanical garden. Daniel recommended going to Cristo Redentor first since it gets very busy later in the day. We drove across town in Daniel's car which was clean and comfortable. Daniel speaks English very well, we never had a problem communicating. I felt like we were spending the day with a friend showing us around. Daniel dropped us off at the tram to the top of Corcovado, told us to buy tickets, and wait for him to rejoin us. Since my wife is somewhat mobility impaired, Daniel spoke to the attendants and got us on the tram first. Daniel is a wealth of information. He told us all about Christ the Redeemer and showed us the best spots to get good photos. The next stop was Sugarloaf. Again, he dropped us off, parked the car, and rejoined us. After we bought the tickets he showed us where to go to get priority boarding for handicapped people. We had a coffee at the top of Sugarloaf and talked for several minutes. It was enjoyable to just talk with Daniel. On the way to the Selaron stairs we stopped for lunch at a nice restaurant. The food was excellent and the cost was very reasonable. The Selaron steps were as spectacular as we had hoped. By this time it was after 2 in the afternoon. We decided that we were worn out and that we could skip the botanical gardens. Daniel was quite willing to continue the tour, but we were done. We enjoyed seeing the major attractions of Rio de Janeiro very much, but we enjoyed even more meeting Daniel and spending time with him. If, when, we go back to Rio, we will ask Daniel to guide us again. We like the pleasure of his company.

Great tour experience in the ‘Cidade Maravilhosa’

My wife and I enjoyed a full day tour with Gus in this beautiful city. Gus is a very professional and experienced guide who make your tour its money worth. We managed to see many of the most spectacular sites during our tour, enjoying especially the stunning views from the Corcovado and the Pão de Açúcar. I strongly recommend a private tour with Gus to anyone visiting Rio!

We partnered with Gus during a company retreat in Brazil for 25 people. He took the group on a private city tour of Rio de Janeiro and on another private tour in Buzios. Communication with Gus with excellent from the start. He is very patient and flexible and provided several tour options to make sure the group would have the best experience. He went above and beyond, making sure the tours included water and snacks and additional transportation options to get to the tour meeting point. Working with Gus was a seamless and very enjoyable experience!

Gus was absolutely amazing! He was very knowledgeable, friendly and accommodating! The tour was wonderful and he went out of his way to make sure we had a unique and tailored experience. He helped us go to a football match and had many insider tips. I will definitely be contacting Gus when we return to Rio in the future! I would recommend him to anyone!
