Overview

Santa Teresa is one of the most bucolic neighborhoods in Rio de Janeiro and is close to the city center. A trip to the past visiting the historic center of Rio, Praça Mauá, Metropolitan Cathedral, Selaron Staircase, Casa França Brasil. The neighborhood of Santa Teresa houses mansions from the early 20th century. Today it is a stronghold of plastic artists, where there is the tram, dated 1897.

Escadaria Selaron
The Selarón Staircase is an architectural work located between the neighborhoods of Santa Teresa and Lapa, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, decorated by long-standing Chilean artist Jorge Selarón, who declared it as a "tribute to the Brazilian people" .

Opened in 1909, the Municipal Theater is one of the main venues in Brazil and Latin America. In the last renovation, gems were found as a large original panel by the Italian Eliseu Visconti were rescued. Important areas of the Theater have been restored, with an emphasis on the imposing 350kg eagle that adorns the top of the building, which received 8 thousand gold leaves 23 carats of gilding.
