Escadaria Selaron
The Selaron Staircase connects Largo da Lapa to the part of the Santa Teresa neighborhood next to the convent of the same name. Decorated with numerous tiles by an artist, it has become a tourist spot in Rio de Janeiro attracting countless visitors. The animated photo shown above shows the panels made with tiles from various parts of Brazil and the world.

Carioca Aqueduct
The former Carioca Aqueduct, known as Arcos da Lapa, is one of the city's postcards, in addition to being the most representative symbol of the Old River preserved in the bohemian region of Lapa.

The structure, in mortar stone, presents a Romanesque style, whitewashed, with 42 double arches and glasses on the upper part. Arcos da Lapa are considered the largest architectural work undertaken in Brazil during the colonial period.

Around it are two of the most important venues in the city: Fundição Progresso and Circo Voador.

Every first Saturday of the month Rua do Lavradio hosts the Feira do Rio Antigo. The centennial street, which houses historic mansions, bars, antique shops and concert halls, offers a relaxed program for those who want to know the history of the city and have fun without spending anything.

The event acts as an ode to shopping. Hundreds of stalls offer different products, from furniture to clothes, and accessories to decorative objects. Getting out of there empty-handed is almost impossible.
