Went to Petropolis and seen a few historical sites and the guide was informative about the history of the town and its connection to Brazils early days. Beer tasting was cool, the brewery was a fun part of the tour.

This is a full day trip, you will be going into higer elevations. Bring fizzy water as you will be taking a winding road and may feel nausea. Mama Chris is the perfect host for this trip, she is full of life and entertaining! I would certainly take a night club tour if she hosts it! Emerson, is a skilled driver on this long tour with difficult roads.
I would recommend that visitors bring a copy of their photo ids and a print out of the specifics they paid for on this tour as they may be other visitors with different stops than yours on this tour. Bring water and snacks. Visitors should know that the lunch buffet only included 2 pieces of 'protien'. Additional protiens, some desserts and drinks you pay for seperately. A few of us wanted to purchase souvenirs from the Petropolis Palace home, but no one knew where it was and if it was open. The Crystal Palace, the small museum at the end of the tour and plane inventors house entrance to these places were not included. If the tour organizers want to list them as places of interest you visit on the tour, stopping visitors outside a closed fence to view a construction site is not considered a tour. Before leaving Petropolis City the tour literature indicates you visit a cholocate factory. It should be listed as a chocolate dessert cafe where you can enjoy everything chocolate. Some free samples would be recommended. Everyone visiting the chocolate shop should try the desserts and the best hot chocolate (ever) which is like a yummy pudding!
An excellent introduction to the city

Ok, first of all, we had a phenomenal tour guide (Chris) and a very good bus driver. Petropolis is a beautiful city that is definitely worth a visit and we enjoyed spending the day there. The only cons of the trip I would say is that the Crystal Palace was closed for renovations when we visited, and also the limitations in the lunch (where you are only allowed 2 proteins) should have been communicated clearly.
