What To Expect
Sitio Roberto Burle Marx
We'll enjoy the landscape on the way there and the view of the coast with its beautiful beaches. Once we arrive at Roberto Burle Marx's Estate, I will guide you through its gardens and we'll visit his former house that is a museum nowadays, his studio, and a chapel from the seventeenth century that is inside the property.
Roberto Burle Marx was a Brazilian landscape architect, who created the tropical modern garden in Brazil. He was considered one of the greatest landscape designers of the twentieth century. He donated his property to the federal government in 1985, nine years before he passed away. It has a huge collection of plants (3.500 species) from Brazil and some other countries from Asia and Africa as well.
