Com 26.000 m2 de área construída e 4.500.000 litros de água, e possui em exposição cerca de 8.000 animais de 350 espécies diferentes.

Um dos maiores atrativos do AquaRio é o tanque principal que se chama Oceano e estação-casa de mergulho.
